| Though I much prefer selling existing work, directly or through one of the galleries which represent me, I do a number of commissions every year for individuals and institutions that want something of a particular size or character. I only do commissioned paintings of the same kinds of images and in the same style as my regular work. It works best for me if the client sees as much of my past work as possible, and can indicate as clearly as possible which of those kinds of images he or she desires. That is one of the reasons for developing this website, which includes many images of my paintings from the past decade, but I can easily provide additional images through slides or e-mail attachments. Several conversations are usually necessary in order to determine the kind of imagery, size, and format desired, as well as the price. I have done commissions for individuals for paintings as small as five by seven inches, to series of very large paintings up to fifteen feet wide for institutions, so prices range from a bit more than $1000 to more than $40,000.
